Eligibility qualification and Experience for Registration as Valuer

Asset Class Qualifications Experience in Specified Discipline
Securities or Financial Assets
  1. Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India,
    Member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India,
    Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India,
    Master of Business Administration or
    Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (specialisation in finance).
  2. Post Graduate in Finance
Three years


Note:

  1. The eligibility qualification means qualification obtained from a recognised Indian University or equivalent whether in India or abroad.
  2. The following documentary proofs (as applicable) are considered valid for establishing educational eligibility:
    1. Final Degree Certificate and / or;
    2. Certificate of Membership issued by a professional institute established by an Act of Parliament.
  3. The following documentary proofs, as applicable, are required for considering experience:
    1. In case of employment:
      1. Service Certificate clearly mentioning date of joining, date of relieving and nature of work undertaken.
    2. In case of Practice:
      1. Confirmation from clients to whom service has been rendered to. Example: In case valuation work has been undertaken for a Bank / FI, a certificate from the said institution confirming period for which work was done and nature of work undertaken (so as to establish experience in specified discipline). In case work was undertaken for Private Companies, a certification from them confirming the work assigned (so as to establish experience in specified discipline) and date of completion of work (Work Completion Certificate).
    3. In case of Members of professional institute established by an Act of Parliament:
      1. Certificate of Membership.
      2. Self Certification by the Member confirming the tenor during which private practice was undertaken by the Member.
  4. A Master of Science in Finance from a foreign university is eligible to seek registration for the asset class “Securities and Financial Assets”.
  5. An individual who has done MBA (Finance) from a foreign university is eligible to seek registration for asset class “Securities and Financial Assets”.
  6. A Chartered Accountant with more than 3 years of experience in valuation of financial securities is eligible for registration as registered valuer for asset class “Securities or Financial Assets” even if the applicant has not undertaken Graduation.
